Amber is an accomplished and vocal advocate for purpose-driven business with an unconventional blend of experience in design, innovation, corporate strategy, international affairs and marketing. As an advisor and entrepreneur, she believes that profound innovation opportunities arise from unexpected, often difficult moments of change.
Early in her career, Amber worked with teams of architects and engineers on large-scale commercial development projects and served at the United Nations with UN-HABITAT during the crafting of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). For over a decade, Amber guided clients through the transformative shift in the racial and ethnic makeup of the U.S population. As principal of a multicultural agency, she directed marketing programs and campaigns for clients in telecom, financial services, consumer products and the public sector.
As founder of a consulting group focused on emerging market segments, she worked closely with business leaders and NGOs to develop and iterate strategies for growth. Using research, analytics, innovation, product development, brand design and operational alignment, she led the generation of over US$300MM in incremental value, was recognized in Fast Company and published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Most recently, Amber co-founded Impact AO, a nonprofit consultancy providing capacity building and early-stage funding for local entrepreneurs working toward the global goals in East Africa.
Amber holds a BS in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of International Management, with a focus on strategy and entrepreneurship from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
